GCVP Volunteers at Abandoned Dog Shelter with Employees, Families and University Student Supporters
Company also donates heartworm preventive and other supplies

GCVP announced on October 7 that it carried out a volunteer activity on October 5 at “Happy Dogs’ Home”, an abandoned dog shelter in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
The event was organized as part of the activities of the “Gachi Green Volunteer Group,” the company’s in-house volunteer organization. A total of 33 people took part: 22 employees and family members, and 11 university student brand supporters. Participants spent the day caring for more than 220 abandoned dogs living at the shelter. University student supporters worked in teams alongside employees and their families, which made the day a chance for people across generations and backgrounds to come together around companion animal welfare.
“The moment I remember most is taking Hope, a dog with bad legs, out for her first walk in a pet stroller,” said Min-chae Kang, one of the student supporters. “Even though I was a stranger, the dogs quickly opened up and kept pace with me, and I was grateful for that. At the same time, it broke my heart to see how much they love people.”
Another supporter, Jae-hee Hong, said, “I had always wanted to volunteer at a dog shelter, but I kept hesitating because they’re usually far away. I’m glad I finally got the chance to take part. It was so rewarding that I’d like to do it again.”
Along with the volunteer work, GCVP donated its heartworm and internal/external parasite treatment, DEFINITE Solution, to the shelter to help with the health care of the dogs in its care. The donation stands out because it went beyond extra hands. It drew on the company’s expertise as a specialized animal pharmaceutical company.
GCVP holds “One Health” as its core brand value. This is the philosophy that animal health is directly connected to human and environmental health. The shelter volunteer event was planned as one of the company’s social contribution activities that put this philosophy into practice. Under its brand slogan, “Better Life with Healthy Animals,” the company has used a range of internal and external activities to share the message that a healthy life for animals leads to a better life for people and the planet.
“It was meaningful for our employees, their families and our university student supporters to come together and spend time with these dogs,” said the CEO of GCVP. “As a company that makes animal medicines, we believe protecting animal health is the same as protecting the health of people and the planet. Guided by our One Health philosophy, we will continue our social contribution activities for the lives and welfare of companion animals.”
Through the Gachi Green Volunteer Group, GCVP carries out a range of ongoing activities to improve animal welfare. These include employee volunteering, supply donations to animal shelters, and medicine support for veterinary outreach programs run by veterinary volunteer organizations and veterinary colleges. The company plans to expand social contribution programs that combine its expertise as an animal pharmaceutical company with its One Health brand philosophy.
